As a pioneer of electromobility in Hungary, the ELMŰ-ÉMÁSZ Group has been working on developing the necessary infrastructure for the dissemination of environmentally friendly road transport. As part of the Green eMotion project of the European Union ELMŰ-ÉMÁSZ has now installed ten more public charging stations in the capital of Budapest.
The charging station in front of the building of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences was presented to Dr. István György, Vice-Mayor of the capital Budapest on March 25, 2014. The inauguration ceremony was led by Dr. Zoltán Kövesdi, Member of the Board of ELMŰ-ÉMÁSZ in the presence of representatives of the National Economy Ministry, the Ministry of National Development and the Ministry of Regional Development.
Since 2010 the ELMŰ-ÉMÁSZ Group has created the necessary charging infrastructure in the Hungarian capital in close cooperation with relevant government agencies and the Budapest city council and thus directly contributed to meet European climate goals. Thanks to the ten newly installed charging stations Budapest has become a new Demonstration Region of the Green eMotion project of the European Union – in line with Barcelona, Berlin and other Western European cities. The installed intelligent charging stations are equipped with European standard connections and are therefore part of the European network of charging equipment. Their use is supported with a user-friendly smart phone app that allows free finding and reserving a charging station currently not in use.
